Conditional formatting

Is it possible to conditionally format cells dependent on another cell, and could that formatting include a currency symbol?

For example if i had a dropdown in cell A1 for currency and i selected GBP or EUR, could i set up say cell B2 to show

RE: Conditional formatting

Hi Edward

Thank you for the question which has two answers.

Yes it is possible to conditionally format cells dependant upon other cells. When you set up the conditional formatting drop down the first box inside the condition and change it to "Formula Is" then you can put the condition based on the other cell. Using your example the first condition would be

=$A$1="GBP"

Although this partly answers your question the example you cannot apply number formatting in conditional formatting in Excel 2003.

Hope that helps.
