what would be the best calculation to use when trying to calculate hours of work over two different days. eg. starting at 0800 mon and finishing at 0300 tue. and be able to repeat this for the full range of possible hours.

This was a very challenging question which has a few of our trainers scratching their heads, hence the delay in response.
I think we have a solution that will work - see below (it will help to put the start and finish times and formula into a spreadsheet to see how this works.
