Dreamweaver Introduction (2 days) course
What is the best way to insert video, and in what format does it have to be, and does it have to be in flash?
Hi Konrad,
In Dreamweaver CS3, ensure your file is saved, then place your cursor where you want to insert the streaming video.
Go to Insert -> Media -> Flash Video.
From the 'video type' drop-down box, choose 'streaming video'.
Then follow the prompts to complete your video settings etc.
If you require further help, you can press the HELP button in this dialogue box, which explains all the settings.
The most common type nowadays is Flash, as most people have it installed and it usually comes installed with the browser.
However, you can use Windows Media or QuickTime as well. Dreamweaver can help you insert those objects too. Look under the 'insert' menu.
Regards, Rich

Dreamweaver tip:Xhtml vs htmlWhen using dreamwear template or just creating a blank webpage, you are able to select the markup language you want to use. The main choices are either xhtml or html. It is now best to select xhtml as this will translate all the html into xml, so it is transmitted across the web in xml format. One of the main advantages of this is that it makes the site that you build much more compatible with the range of different web browsers that exist. |
