Graphs

Is it possible to change the colors of a chart and then save it as default colors for the next graph you are going to do?

RE: Graphs

Hi Tharina

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

You can create and save a custom chart type which you can set as a default - this should provide the solution you are looking for.

Here's how:
1. Create and format the chart complete with the colours you wish to use.
2. Right-click on the chart and select Chart Type from the shortcut menu.
3. Select the Custom Types tab, and click Add.
4. Enter a name for the chart and click OK.
5. To set the chart as the default type, click Set as Default Chart then click OK.
6. When making a new chart, select your custom chart option in Step 1 of the Chart Wizard.

I hope this helps - if not, please reply and I'll see if I can help you further.

Amanda

Excel tip:

Change the default location for opening and saving spreadsheets

If you are always opening spreadsheets from and/or saving documents to a specific location that is not My Documents, save time by setting this folder as the default for opening files from and saving files to.

Here's how:
1. Go to Tools - Options.

2. Select the General tab.

3. Enter the pathname of the folder you wish to make the default in the Default File Location box (hint: it will be easier to use Windows Explorer to navigate to this folder, then copy and paste the pathname from the address bar at the top of the Windows Explorer screen).

4. Click OK.

You have now changed the default folder for opening and saving spreadsheets.
