why do you need to have the letter 'D' in front of SUM, AVERAGE etc when using database formulas?

Hi Louise

Thanks for you question, the reason for using D in the formula is because it allows you to use certain cirteria to search within a database

without the D your formula just wont work within a database

Excel tip:

Separate the year from a date

To separate the year from a date use the =year() function, eg a date is in cell A1 and in A2 you wish to display the year enter the function =year(A1)
