Project Intro Intermediate course
I want to identify tasks with a task number rather than a name. As the ID no can change, what is the best alternative in order to track tasks (not'show outline number')
Hi Claire
There are two things you might try to do this. Firstly you could insert one of the spare text fields (e.g. Text1) and use it to record a reference number that you assign to each task.
You could instead create a custom WBS code (from Project choose WBS and define code) which allows you to build a hierarchical reference scheme for your tasks.
I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
Andrew
