Page numbering

If there are 6 pages in a document and I want to stop the page numbering at page 4 (no page numbering to appear on page 5 & 6), how do I do that?

RE: Page numbering

Hi Janet

Thank you for your question.

You will need to set up the document so that pages 5 and 6 are in their own section. To do this, insert a next page section break at the end of page 4:

Insert - Break - select Next Page from Section break types - click OK.

Insert your page numbering as usual.

To remove the page numbering from pages 5 and 6, go to the header or footer area on page 5:

Click your cursor on page 5 - View - Header and footer - if page numbering is in the footer, go to the footer area.

You should see a piece of text above the right hand side of the header or footer which says 'Same as previous'.

Find the button on the Header and Footer toolbar that says Same as Previous when you hold your mouse over it (about 3/4 of the way along the toolbar).

Click the Same as Previous button. The words Same as Previuos should disappear from above the header or footer area.

Select the page number in the header/footer and press Delete to take the page numbering off. It should be removed from the header or footer on pages 5 and 6, but the page numbering on pages 1-4 should remain.

I hope this helps.
Amanda
