How do you add/remove or change a password on a database?
Hi Kate,
Thank you for your post, welcome to the forum, in answer to your question, when you set/remove or change a password on a database the database must be in Exclusive user mode, in order to set this you should open Access on its own, Click Open Database and navigate to the folder where your database is kept, select the database icon (single click) and then in the Open File dialog box look for the little drop down arrow on the Open button. Choose Open Exclusive.
When the database has opened, from the Database window choose the menu option Tool>Security and Set your database password, if you already have a password set you must follow these steps again to remove it. To change the database password, first remove it then set a new password. I hope that has been of help to you, best regards Pete
