How do I use the Lookup Wizard to create a drop down choice? Regards, Pete

RE: Data type

Hi Pete, Thank you for your post, welcome to the forum, you can create your drop down list either on your Table or in a Form, both will look for information from either another Table or Query or will enter data that you have typed in for selection. The beauty of a drop down is that it restricts data to that which is on the list making for accurate data entry. However creating the list in a table; Break any Relationships that you may have previously created. Change to Design View, in the field of your choice, select the option Lookup Wizard, once the Wizard begins choose either from Data from another table or query, or to type the values that you want, if you choose to type the values, enter the text on each line and complete the wizard. If you wish to use values from another table or query, select this choice, then follow the choices in the wizard to select source and field/s, Sort the data and enter a name for the field, Finish by Saving the table to create new relationship, if you have created a special relationship then re-instate your relationship at this point and save the Table and the Relationship.
If your dropdown is in a form, select the Drop down from the Toolbox options and draw a frame to create the control and its label, follow the wizard instructions to create your Drop down, note the different options available.
I hope that helps, if so, please click the Resolved link, best regards Pete Emmerson
