Need help planning new access database

I'm familiar with many of the features of Access but am having a hard time planning and developing a new database for our company.

Basically we operate with tons of paper forms and Excel spreadsheets and are always creating new spreadsheets to analyse data so it's not going to be a simple process, but I'm sure it will be well worth it!

What we need to figure out is how to do everything we do, and plan to do, with our current system in Access. I was wondering if anyone has any helpful articles, documents, links, etc. to help with this initial process.

Any other advice you can give is much appreciated.

Cheers,
Zahid

RE: Need help planning new access database

Hi Zahid,
Thank you for your post, in answer to your questions, I think what you really need is for some consultancy and for someone to sit alongside you for a day to go through your needs and requirements. If you get in touch with our office on main number, they will be able to advise you if this is possible. When it comes to articles, documents and links etc there are too many to imagine and it would be hard to give a definative reply. I hope that helps, best regards Pete

Access tip:

Hiding Multiple Table columns

If you want to hide non-adjacent Access table columns. In Datasheet view, open the table that contains the columns you want to hide.

On the Format menu, click Unhide Columns.
In the Unhide Columns dialog box, clear the check box next to the name of each column you want to hide.
Click Close.

This method makes having to use the Hide Columns command repeatedly unnecessary
