Colours occasionally "change" on workbooks I use when I close and then return. Is this a known problem with Excel or do you think that it is my computer setup?

RE: Formatting

Hello Ruth,
I hope you enjoyed your Excel training sessions with us.

In response to your question, I have not come across this issue, but I have heard complaints related to colour change with Windows Vista and Excel 2007. Are you running these two versions? If so, I believe it is a known bug. If you are running earlier versions, I would need to investigate this further. Perhaps you could give me more detail of what is changing specifically.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved. If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. And please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Have a great day.

Regards,
Mara

Excel tip:

Recently used file list

Under the File menu, you may find a list of files at the bottom of the menu. These files represent the most recently used Excel spreadsheets. This file list provides a quick way for you to access your files.

You can disable the file list feature of Excel. This is done by

1. Choose Tools > Options menu. You will see the Options dialog box.
2. Ensure the General tab is selected.
3. Make sure the Recently Used File List check box is cleared.
4. Click on OK.
